España. Años 60. Una pequeña ciudad de provincias [ Navarra]

Javi, un niño de nueve años, lleva a su amigo Carlos hasta un viejo caserón situado a las afueras de la ciudad. Allí, según les cuenta el hermano de Javi, hubo un crimen pasional y las voces de los muertos se pueden escuchar en el sotano de la casa. El misterio que rodea este caserón deshabitado es el inicio de una busqueda, de un aprendizaje, que muestra, a través de la mirada de Javi, el miedo y la fascinación hacia lo desconocido.  Durante las vacaciones de Semana Santa, javi y su hermano van al pueblo, en la montaña. Allí, Javi se siente atraido por el secreto que oculta una habitación de la casa, que siempre permanece cerrada: la sala donde encontraron muerto a su padre Juan le dice que en esa habitación -al igual que en el viejo caserón deshabitado- puede escuchar la voz de su padre porque los muertos gritan para librar-se de sus secretos.  Intrigado por ese mundo enigmatico, javi seguirá Indagando en los misterios que oculta. Y en esta búsqueda, este empeño por descubrir y conocer cuanto les rodea, desvela ante javi una realidad donde las mentiras, las pasiones, el amor y la muerte, van sustituyendo las fantasias de su mundo infantil.

All About My Mother is a passionate hymn to the strength and spirit of women; a kaleidoscopic drama embracing motherhood, love and desire

The plot originates in Almodóvar’s earlier film The Flower of My Secret which shows student doctors being trained in how to persuade grieving relatives to allow organs to be used for transplant, focusing on the mother of a teenager killed in a road accident.

Mature and moving aren’t words usually associated with “King of Kitsch” Pedro Almodóvar, but they certainly apply to this inspired comedy drama that’s littered with allusions to the Bette Davis classic All about Eve and Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire. Devastated by the death of her son in a road accident, hospital worker Cecilia Roth donates his organs before leaving Madrid for Barcelona to carry out the boy’s wish and tell his absent father of his existence. It is here that she finds a whole new purpose in tending to a pregnant HIV-positive nun (Penélope Cruz) and a grande dame of the stage nearing the end of her career (Marisa Paredes). With sassy humour coming from Antonia San Juan as a transvestite prostitute awaiting a sex change, this fond, deliciously flamboyant study of womanhood and friendship is intense without ever being overbearing, and touching but never sentimental. It’s one of the Spanish director’s finest achievements and it earned him a best foreign language film Oscar plus two gongs at the Baftas

Una historia de amor apasionada y secreta, contada por cada uno de sus protagonistas, Ana y Otto, desde que tienen ocho años hasta los veinticinco. Todo comienza en 1980, a la salida de un colegio, cuando dos niños echan a correr por distintos motivos. Desde esa tarde en la que se les escapa el mundo, las vidas de Ana y Otto se trenzarán en un mísmo círculo, que comenzará a cerrarse diecisiete años más tarde, en Finlandia, en el mismo borde del Círculo Polar.

Medem conmociona los cimientos del cine español con esta verdadera obra de arte, una lacónica historia de un amor que está  tan cerca que es irreal. Su estructura concéntrica (y capicúa, como el nombre de los protagonistas y el apellido del propio director) y los alternativos puntos de vista que narran la historia hacen de esta película un verdadero ejercicio de virtuosismo donde todos los elementos confluyen hacia la tragedia de amor más intensa relatada en el cine español en los últimos años.También cabe destacar la fotografía. Los tonos azulados y fríos constituyen una manifiesta contraposición con el amor ardiente que une a la pareja de amantes, y crea toda una atmósfera de vacío entorno a ellos para los cuales no existe nada más que la presencia del otro.

Sinopsis: En una noche de verano , en San Sebastián, Jota (Nancho Novo), desesperado por el abandono de su gran amor, intenta suicidarse arrojándose al mar. En ese momento ve caer en la arena de la playa a una chica (Emma Suárez) que ha tenido un accidente de moto chocando contra la barandilla del malecón. A consecuencia del golpe la joven sufre una amnesia total, no recuerda ni su nombre. Jota, aprovecha de esta situación.

Abandoned by his girl, washed up as a rock singer, Jota (Novo) is on the brink of suicide when he sees a biker skidding off the road. He sees the motorcycle go over the side of the pavement, at San Sebastian, crashing onto the beach.  First on the scene, Jota goes to see what happened. He discovers that the vehicle was being driven by an attractive young woman, (Suárez), physically unharmed, but without memory or ID.. He calls an ambulance and gets onto it with her. When the emergency medical staff discover that she has amnesia, improvising wildly, Jota takes advantage of the situation.

Pablo López (Luis Tosar) es un tipo normal. Tiene treinta y tantos años, trabaja en un banco de inversio-nes y está harto de todo. Un lunes por la mañana, en un atasco en plena Cibeles, su coche se empotra con-tra el descapotable de la pija más pija de Madrid y se monta un escándalo: ella es de armas tomar, le insulta hasta hartarse y le mete en un lío monumental con la policía y el seguro. Así que Pablo, para divertirse un poco, decide hacerle la vida imposible. Un día, cuando ya em-pieza a aburrirse de esa situación, Pablo se topa de bruces con María (María Valverde), hermana pequeña de la pija. Y ese día su vida da un giro espectacular. Cínico y resentido, Pablo jamás pensó que su existencia pudiera volver a tener sentido, y, ahora que la luz ha estallado ante sus ojos, siente que no puede –no debe– enamorarse de una chica de quince años.
